Mischievous Books

I love books with faeries, elves, Celtic myth, diversity in all forms and just a touch of drama.

Reading progress update: I've read 379 out of 379 pages.

Proxy - Alex London

I had heard a lot about this book and while yes it is a good book and i would recommend it I was not completely wowed by it. I found a few things to be a bit predictable. I am however curious about Guardian but I am not dying to read it.

Reading progress update: I've read 284 out of 379 pages.

Proxy - Alex London

Reading progress update: I've read 85 out of 379 pages.

Proxy - Alex London

So far I like both characters and that Knox isn't a total snob... but oh god what they do to Syd is terrible .. not right.. evil gaurdians ... evil evvilll

this has been a mid read review

"“We are what we are, Niall, neither as good or as evil as others paint us. And what we are doesn't change how truly we feel, only how free we are to follow those feelings.”"
Ink Exchange (Wicked Lovely) - Melissa Marr

I choose to do a review of the entire Wicked Lovely series under INK because it is my favourite. I am obsessed with this book, its world, its prose, and its characters. Characters that come alive on the page and make you want to know them at a personal level. I am going to try and be as unspoily as possible because I want someone to read this and enjoy every twist and turn, every tear, every laughter as much as I did. What I loved about these books is the characters, as a writer myself I am very character driven, and Melissa delivers some of the most real and amazing characters i have ever read. They are not one dimensional, good or evil, they all have flaws and fears. A character who is the hero in one book could be the villain in another. No one is black and white which even in a fantastical world about faeries makes it believable.

The series in its entirety is:

Wicked Lovely

Ink Exchange

Fragile Eternity

Radiant Shadows

Darkest Mercy

The Desert Tales Manga and Novel

and many short stories in the Anthology Faerie tales and Nightmares

Attack On Titan

Attack on Titan 13 - Hajime Isayama

Spoilers ahead so beware

I had heard of Attack On Titan many times before at various Cons and had never seen any reason to watch the Anime or read the Manga. I was recently able to watch it and boy did I enjoy it and soon after I started reading the Manga. If you like fast paced and character's that have actual development then you will love this. The premise of the world in AOT is that huge humanoid like creatures called the Titans, that resemble men, have come and seem to only have a stomach for human flesh. So the last of humanity comes together to build a series of three, 50 M walls I believe, in order to keep the Titans at bay. The story follows Eren Jeager and his friends as they go about their daily lives until a 60 M titan appears and destroys the wall and thus beginning pure chaos and horror. I have read that this manga has been compared to Game of Thrones for the amount of gore and death and it is an accurate description. This Manga is not for the faint at heart but you will laugh, scream in terror, cringe at happy go lucky monsters, and watch as an annoying little brat grows up into a man, I am dying for the next volume in the Manga.

I tried to not be too spoily

thanks you
